Spatial Meetings

Spatial meetings allow conversations to start naturally based on proximity in a virtual space. Moving your avatar near someone can initiate instant video or audio interaction.

What is a Spatial Meeting?

A spatial meeting is a form of digital interaction that mimics physical proximity in a real-world office. In a traditional digital setup, you must schedule a call or send a link to talk to a colleague. In a spatial environment, you simply move your digital character toward another person. When your characters are close together, your video and audio connect automatically. This removes the need for formal invitations for every small interaction. It turns the digital workspace into a living environment where communication happens as naturally as it does in person.

Why Teams Need Spatial Meetings

Spatial technology solves the problem of "meeting friction" that often slows down remote teams:

  • Instant Communication: Teammates can start video conversations instantly without the need to create or share new meeting links.

  • Spontaneous Collaboration: This feature enables quick, drop-in conversations that do not require any formal scheduling.

  • Mimicking Physical Presence: It recreates the experience of being in a shared physical space where you can walk up to someone to ask a quick question.

  • Reduced Friction: Moving your avatar near a teammate is the only step required to initiate a high-quality video or audio interaction.
