In SoWork, right away we notice the huge difference in art and graphics quality. The details are key, and it's evident there's been careful consideration here based on SoWork's sleek and easy to navigate Mapmaker and character picker - the large number of clothing, accessory, furniture, wall/floor, and general decor options mean you can really make the space your own. Gather town has a similar experience, but contains lower quality graphics and fewer visible details (due to their pixelated art style). They also have a Mapmaker feature, keeping furniture and decor customizations at your finger tips. Though these features offer massive value on both sides, the Mapmaker in SoWork seems more intuitive, allowing you to find what you need, faster. In gather town, however, you have a few more options when customizing and creating your profile. You're able to add your country, a profile photo, and your start date at the company. Cool!
How to Customize Your Space in SoWork
✨ Simply open up Mapmaker using the 'B' key.
✨ From there, similar to gather town, you can select the category you'd like (Furniture, Floors or Walls), then on to browsing the various sections (Surfaces, Office Tools, Nature, Decor, and more).
✨ Once you've selected an item you'd like to place, just drag it to the desired location and click to place it down. If the object turns red (instead of green) as you're looking to place it, that means your object will collide with something else and can't be placed there. Try shifting it slightly or deleting what's in the way!
✨ As you select each item, you'll also be able to add an interaction, copy, or rotate it as needed.
