Remote teams have a huge advantage: their office is digital! This means their office can utilize technology and be smarter, faster, and more productive than ever possible in their old physical office. Let's jump in and see what gather town and SoWork can do for us here.
SoWork has an AI-powered 'office assistant' named Sophia Bot, making them the first smart digital office on the market. She takes meeting notes, summarizes the main themes and takeaways, and provides action-items for next steps. Teams can save a ton of time with this feature, allowing you to catch up on anything missed while you were away, or maybe you'd just like to refer to the notes/action items as needed throughout the week.

SoWork also packages up team data into actionable insights. Their Strong Connections feature lets you know when it's been a while since you last chatted with your closest teammates, and encourages a coffee catch-up or a quick sync. Love the way this tool uses hearts in a video game-like manner to denote your connections. Hello nostalgia!

Gather town doesn't have too much in this particular area, given they don't provide data, insights or AI-powered tools. Instead, they're more focused on remote team socials and office customizations. The gather town meeting tools are solid and definitely do the trick if you're open to a more basic meeting experience. Looking at both sides, it seems like gather town is sticking to their guns in the social world with conferences and events, and SoWork has taken the leap (and is well on their way), to perfecting the meeting world with their smart office tools.

How to Use Sophia Bot in SoWork:
✨ To use AI-powered meeting summaries in your SoWork office, start a meeting with one or more teammates, then click the Sophia Bot meeting summary icon.
✨ The icon will then change to Sophia Bot typing. Your meeting notes are now being taken. Your summary will be created for you when the meeting is over.
✨ Press the Sophia Bot icon to end the summary OR end the meeting and we will handle ending the summary for you. The teammate who initiated the meeting summary will receive a notification when the notes are ready for review.
✨ From here, if you want to adjust the notes, use the text editor to add, change, restyle, or remove sections, then click Publish. The meeting summary is now available for all teammates and admins to view in the notes area. They will also get a notification that new notes are ready to view.
